Truckline sponsor V8 ute in 2011 Yokohama V8 ute racing series

Truckline are excited to announce the sponsorship of a V8 Ute in this year’s Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series.

The V8 Ute Series runs as a support program to the V8 Supercars. Up and coming driver Ryan “Rhino” Hansford, will steer Truckline Racing in eight rounds across all the states, with the first race to take place at the Clipsal 500, Adelaide Parklands, South Australia from 17-20 March 2011.

The Queenslander is well exposed to motorsport, with his father - the late Gregg Hansford considered one of the best motorcycle riders in the world. During his career, Gregg was placed 2nd in the world 250cc and 3rd in the 350cc championships in 1978. Then after switching to four wheels, he also lays claim to the Tooheys 1000 Bathurst win with Larry Perkins in 1993.

Ryan hopes to follow his father’s footsteps and claim a Bathurst win. He will get that chance this year during round 6 of the V8 Ute series at Mt Panorama in October.

Having had experience in both the MINI challenge series and the Fujitsu V8 Supercar series, Hansford is looking forward to competing in the V8 Ute Championships and is eager to get behind the wheel of the Truckline Ute.

Truckline – Australia’s leading distributor of aftermarket truck and trailer parts is proud to be partnering Hansford through his journey. “It will provide exceptional coverage for Truckline in a sport followed by many in our industry” said Truckline’s Marketing Manager Jackie Perris.

General Manager of Truckline, Grant Adam added “With Ryan’s personality, talent, charisma and racing genes, he will no doubt be a great ambassador for Truckline”.

With the V8 Ute championships about to take off, Truckline’s website www.truckline.com.au will provide updated information on Ryan and Truckline Racing as he progresses through the series.
